What's in my Changing Bag & Review: Jem+Bea Jemima

Here is my beautiful new changing bag, the Jem+Bea Jemima bag in black leather and I love it.  Having studied the entire Jem+Bea collection it’s safe to say I could fill my wardrobe with all of their bags.
I hadn’t really appreciated how much I would need a bigger changing bag, having a toddler and a newborn means double of almost everything and that’s before I’ve even thought about the bits that I need as well!  This bag is even bigger and more practical than my previous changing bag – the Storksak Elizabeth (a bag that I still love and will still use from time to time), it’s taller and has double the nappy space and the main compartment is much more spacious. There are two fairly large pockets on the front, I tend to use these to keep my phone in – although Emelia likes to store various members of the Paw Patrol in here too!

Here’s a look inside.  You get a changing mat, little pouch (which is detachable from a leather strap inside the bag) an insulated bottle bag and a dust cover.  I use the pouch for storing make up/beauty items, although it would be useful for your phone, money and keys etc.

A changing mat is a must when you’re out and about, I like to put it down on the changing tables/mats in public places.  Unable to breastfeed this time round the bottle bag has been a life saver, it’s kept Oscar’s bottle warm and separate from everything else.  One side of the bag has a large compartment where the changing mat is stored, attached to that are 3 smaller pockets, which I fill with things like hand gel, antibacterial wipes, small toys and snacks for Emelia.  The opposite side has a zip compartment and two large pockets which I use to store nappies and spare outfits.  There is another compartment at one end of the bag which is perfect for storing another bottle – but I use it for my sunglasses!

In the main compartment I keep my purse, water wipes and a few muslins.  When we are going out for longer periods of time I tend to put a book and some colouring in to keep Emelia occupied.  I have listed and added links (where possible) to everything in my bag below.

The Jem + Bea Jemima bag is certainly more of a high end changing bag retailing at £265.  Having tried, tested and fallen in love it with I would say it’s worth every penny of its price tag, aside from its practicality it is beautifully designed and made.  If black bags aren’t your thing it also comes in Tan and from March you will be able to get it in a stunning Grey too – I already have bag envy and am desperately trying to come up with reasons to justify having another!
